Blog plagiarized 07/31/2010
Every now and then I do a plagiarism check for this blog. I've noticed that someone is scraping the RSS feeds and using my posts without attribution and without my permission. He's so unimaginative that he's even named the section of the blog "Oz Dating". He's done the same thing to other blogs as well. It's quite fascinating that someone would be this lazy and unprincipled. Surely it's just as easy (and a whole lot more satisfying) to do your own research and write your own posts, linking to stories that you quote or cite so that those websites and blogs get some benefit as well. My suggestion to him would be to take some pride in what he is doing, and not simply lift other people's work and pass it off as his own. Add Comment A guy in Britain decided to document his dating experiences in a blog, and ended up getting thousands of readers. He's become so well known for it that the local paper has even written an article about him, launching a competition to find him a date for Valentine's Day! It's ironic, since he started out writing about his struggle to find love and now - even though he's known to many, many more women (surely already desired by a few) - he's probably less likely to achieve his goal. That's because if he does end up in a monogamous relationship, then his claim to fame (his blog) has no reason to keep going! It's kind of a Catch 22. The blog could also cause problems for the women he dates, since he's sure to write about them in the blog. (Although, I suppose some of them would probably find that a bit of an ego boost.) Always a strange feeling starting a new blog. I've written a few now, so it should get easier. But it doesn't ... | AuthorI'm a webmaster, blogger and online marketer in Australia. ArchivesJanuary 2012 CategoriesAll |
