Cloe to a year ago the murder trial of Amanda Knox had only just started, yet it was already garnering a lot of media interest. That clearly had a lot to do with her sexual attractiveness.

Recently, as the trial culminated with a guilty verdict, the story has been all over over the mainstream media. Hers is also one of the most searched for names on Google. Another sexy young siren called Jaimee Grubbs - who was involved in a much less serious moral transgression involving Tiger Woods - also makes that list.

Most people find the idea of a sexy, beautiful women in a relationship with a geeky, physically unimpressive man as kind of strange and unlikely. I think that's why a show like Beauty and the Geek manages to draw so many viewers - they find it kind of weirdly compelling, like a bearded lady in a sideshow!

But the reality is that there are quite a few nerdy, plump and just plain ugly men who consistently manage to attract sexy stunners half their age. And here's an interesting article about how they manage to do it.

It seems that their intelligence, power and confidence are major factors. The women also believe that these men are a safer bet in terms of commitment, since - unlike hunky young guys - they will tend to get less sexual offers from beautiful women. But knowing what men are like regardless of their looks, I think this is probably a false hope.

Over the last few decades pro-sex feminists have made a real effort to convince people that women want sex just as much as men, and for the same reasons. But the authors of a just released book argue that this is not true, and that many of those old beliefs about women not liking sex, and only having it to manipulate men, are actually true.

If they're right, this is very depressing!

Dating by genes 06/24/2009

Research has revealed the powerful influence of genetics on the nature of sexual attraction. With this in mind, a couple of new dating servces are offering genetically tailored matchmaking.

There have been many reports that the online dating industry has grown during the world economic downturn, or at least remained strong. Adult texting seems to be similarly immune to the economic forces sending many other businesses bust, if the lavish party thrown by this West Australia-based entrepeneur is any guide.

A blaze started in a venue hosting a swinger's party in Montreal and firemen had to rescue the party-goers, several of whom were naked.

An even like that shouldn't be funny, but for some reason it is.

A British woman called off her wedding when she discovered that the groom had starred in an x-rated movie only weeks before the big day.

People get discovered even when they are trying to conceal their sexual past. But this guy was being public about it. Yet he still thought he wouldn't be found out. Or maybe he thought it wouldn't be an issue for his wife-to-be?

Either way it doesn't reflect very well on his character!

I posted earlier about how women are often attracted to dangerous men. Here's another example:

Charlotte Lindstrom is a gorgeous young Swedish socialite who moved to Australia and became involved with an alleged drug dealer. She was convicted on conspiracy to murder charges and is now testifying against him.

Rugby players are not renowned for their verbal skills. Yet it seems they've just contributed a new word to the Macquarie Dictionary. The term is "bunning", and describes the act of group sex.

In the wake of the Matthew Johns scandal, there has been much condemnation of the blokey, sexist culture of elite rugby and footy, and how the players degrade women in group sex acts. However, many women who participate in these gang bangs don't think of themselves as victims at all. On the contrary, they say these experiences make them feel powerful.

And a recent survey conducted by dating site Red Hot Pie confirms this trend. Results showed that women enjoy group sex as much as men.
