Some of the bigger online dating sites have been making impressive claims about the number of marriages that result from their online matchmaking services. EHarmony, for example, says that it facilitates 2% of marriages in America.

Not surprisingly, there is disagreement about the accuracy of such figures. That said, even if the true numbers are only a fraction of what the dating sites claim, they are still staggering.
