Just recently a dating site burst onto the scene and annoyed countless people the world over with its requirement that to be accepted you must be deemed beautiful by members who have already joined. The same site is now provoking the residents of just one country - Britain - with a statement that its residents are among the ugliest in the world.

It's not a very nice approach to creating publicity. But it certainly seems to be working.
