Research by Telstra has shown that the vast array of communications technology available now (such as e-mail and SMS) has greatly altered the way people set up dates in Australia. This is hardly surprising, although it's still notable. Still, it's interesting that despite the transformation in the way people make initial contact, get to know each other a little and then go out on a date, everything that happens emotionally from then on hasn't changed that much. Relationships are still mysterious and unpredictable - just as they always were. It seems that a lot of people believe technology can solve these problems too, only to find out that it's not like that at all. That's one of the downsides to this technologydriven dating revolution. Technology can also help with dating - especially for shy people who may not feel comfortable approaching people in a club! :)
